Boutique synthesizers, custom built for you.

We design and build one-off instruments around your MIDI keyboard, pad or sequencer and the sound you're after.

Your controller deserves a voice of its own

Most MIDI controllers sit silent until they’re tethered to a laptop, a plugin and an audio interface. That’s a lot of gear between you and the sound.

An Arcadia instrument is the sound. It reads your controller directly and gives you a finished signal, ready for a mixer, an amp, a recorder or a pair of headphones.

How it works

  • MIDI in

Connect any MIDI controller, from a full keyboard to a pocket pad. Notes, velocity, pitch bend and mod wheel all play the voice, and knobs on your controller can be mapped to ours.

  • A voice built by hand

Every build is a complete instrument, designed, assembled and tuned in our workshop for one player. No plugins, no menus, no screens. Just a panel of controls you can play.

  • Line and headphone out

A line-level output feeds your mixer, interface or PA. A separate headphone output with its own volume control lets you play anywhere, at any hour.

What we build

One-off instruments, built to be played

  • Off-the-shelf designs

Not yet, but they're on the bench.

Right now every instrument we make is a custom commission, so there's nothing on the shelf to order. We're working on designs of our own to offer as ready-made instruments. Stay posted for announcements.

About us

A small workshop with a big sound

Arcadia is a handful of people who love synthesizers and the people who play them.

We design every circuit, panel and line of firmware ourselves, then build each instrument by hand, one at a time, for the person who’ll play it. Every build is tested and calibrated before it ships, and the person who built it signs the inside of the case.

We make instruments for players who’d rather turn a knob than click a mouse: performers, producers and anyone with a MIDI controller looking for a voice.

The people at the bench

  • Terrence Owen

    Head of finance

Terry keeps Arcadia's books and operations in order, so the workshop can stay focused on building instruments that last.

  • Mike Caputo

    Head of marketing & design

Mike shapes how every Arcadia instrument looks, feels and finds its way to players, from the first sketch of a front panel to the story we tell about it.

  • Christian Owen

    Head of engineering

Christian leads engineering at Arcadia, from circuit design to the firmware that makes every build respond the moment you touch a key.

Let's build yours
